This specimen was lot 21303 in Heritage sale 61630 (Dallas, February 2024), where it sold for $119. The lot description[1] noted, "Mexico: Estados Unidos "Crocodile" 5 Pesos 2000-Mo MS68 NGC, Mexico City mint. Ranked at the penultimate grade on the NGC census." In addition to the circulating bimetallic five pesos (KM 605), the mint issued a series of one ounce silver NCLT's honoring endangered Mexican wildlife. Creatures included the golden eagle (KM 652), the crocodile (shown here), the river otter (KM 656) and the pronghorn antelope (KM 657).

Recorded mintage: 30,000.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine silver, 40 mm diameter, reeded edge, 1.000 troy oz ASW.
