The specimen shown is an 1891Pi MR eight reales from the San Luis Potosi mint, which struck the type 1827-93. The San Luis Potosi mint closed in 1893, having struck most of the silver and copper denominations but never issued gold. The SCWC lists no varieties for the date, which is common. This specimen was lot 6453 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $293.25. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "MEXICO. Potosi. 8 Reales, 1891-MR. NGC MS-64."

The specimen shown is an 1891Pi MR eight reales from the San Luis Potosí mint, which struck the type 1827-93.
