Sincona sale 22, lot 1747

This specimen was lot 1747 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"GROSSBRITANNIEN, James I. 1603-1625 Sixpence 1605. Fast sehr schön-sehr schön. (kingdom of Great Britain, James I (1603-25), sixpence of 1605, very fine or better.)"

With the accession of James I we drop "England" as the country name and adopt the current "Great Britain." This sixpence has the reverse legend "QUAE·DEVS·CONIVNXIT·NEMO·SEPARET (What God hath joined let no man put asunder)" and was struck 1604-06.
