Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 37808

This specimen was lot 37808 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Gold 5 Dollars, 2014. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Prehistoric Animals series. Woolly mammoth. AGW: 0.1009 oz." This denomination was used for numerous NCLT's in 2014, including KM 625, 1559, 1597, 1598, 1601, 1604, 1611, 1615, 1641, 1642, 1643, 1644, 1645, 1646, 1647, 1648, 1704, 1719, 1728, 1730 (shown here), 1731, 1740, 1756, 1767, 1768, 1774, 1778, 1790, 1798 and 1799. The dies appear to be laser etched.

Recorded mintage: 3,001.

Specification: 3.14 g, 0.999 fine gold, 16 mm diameter, 0.100 troy oz AGW.
