Other 1807-A five francs are known without a laurel wreath on the emperor's head. The various designs of Napoleonic five francs form eight distinct types of which this is the fifth, struck 1807-08 with a complete set of this type comprising 15 date and mintmark combinations, some very rare. Shown is a Napoleonic five francs struck at the Paris mint (mint mark "A") in 1807. It is a rare date of a somewhat scarce type. Other 1807-A five francs are known without a laurel wreath on the emperor's head.
