Reuss in 1789

This specimen was lot 55743 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Reuss-Schleiz. 3 Pfennig, 1858-A. Berlin Mint. Heinrich LXVII. NGC MS-64 Red Brown." This type was struck 1855, 1858, 1862, 1864 and is common. One thaler was 360 pfennige. Reuss-Schleiz was the only line to survive into the unified empire.

Recorded mintage: 360,000.

Specification: copper.
