Netherlands 1859 half gulden rev AH.jpg
engraver's initials

This type was struck 1850-68 in substantial numbers, tho it is scarce in nice condition. No half gulden coins were struck between 1868 and 1898. Curiously, while the half, one and 2½ gulden pieces were 0.945 fine silver, the five, ten and twenty-five cent issues were only 0.640 fine.

Recorded mintage: 3,000,510.

Specification: 5 g, 0.945 fine silver, 22 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 92, Sch-626.
