This specimen was lot 1573 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. 2 1/2 Gulden, 1863. PCGS VF-30 Secure Holder. Key date. Toned." The specimen is an middle date of a type struck at the Utrecht mint for the Netherlands 1849-74. Most of the dates are common; this one is rare.
