H3114-33850r.jpg

This specimen was lot 33850 in Heritage sale 3114 (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $3,120. The lot description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Zeeland. Provincial 1/2 Ducaton (1/2 Silver Rider) 1766 MS64 NGC. An impressive survivor weaving fine-detailed motifs upon somewhat frosty, reflective fields. From the Coenen Collection." This type was struck 1766-75, 1785, 1790-93 and is likely much scarcer than the better known ducaton.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 16.39 g, 0.941 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM 102, Delm-1052, PW-Ze47.
