Philip II (1556-98). Toned. From the Demarete Collection." This type superseded the previous issue (Dav-8491) by running the date continuous with the legend; the next issue (Dav-8493) deleted "ANG Z REX" (king of England) from the king's titles after the death of his wife, Mary Tudor.
