This specimen was lot 1023 in Jean Elsen sale 115 (Brussels, December 2012) where it sold for €240 (about US$366 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, GELDERLAND, Hertogdom, Philips II (1555-1581), AR Philipsdaalder, 1557, Nijmegen. Met titel van koning van Engeland en jaartal onder borstbeeld. Droit: Geharnast bb. l. Revers: Gekroond wapenschild op een Bourgondisch kruis tussen twee vuurijzers. Zeer Zeldzaam. Barstjes. Krasjes op vz. Ex HSA 2474. Fraai à Zeer Fraai. (duchy of Gelderland, Philip II (1555-81), silver daalder/écu of 1557, Nijmegen mint, with the title of king of England. Obverse: armored bust to left; reverse: crowned arms over a Burgundian cross between two jewels. Very rare, obverse crack, very fine.)"

Gelderland was in the heart of the United Provinces. This philipsdaalder has the date right side up. The next issue, Dav-8492, had the date inverted.
