This specimen was lot 1220 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $96. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN: Karl XIV, 1818-1844, AE 1/6 skilling, 1830, reeded edge variety, PCGS graded MS64 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." By the reform of 1830, 32 skilling banco = one riksdaler. Carl was originally a general in Napoleon's army who accepted the Swedish king's invitation to marry the king's daughter and become his heir. He ruled 1818-44 and his descendants reign over Sweden today. This type was struck 1830-31. A few were made with plain edges; we don't know if this was in error or intended.
Recorded mintage: 2,544,000 (reeded edge plus plain edge).
