This specimen was lot 10054 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €528 (about US$550). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Skilling, 1542. Christian III. NGC AU-58. Marvelous specimen of this, the first Danish coin which gives the number of the king. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling; the specie daler would not appear until later. This type was struck 1542-68; this date is slightly heavier than the later ones.
