from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10056

This specimen was lot 10056 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €336 (about US$350). The catalog description^[1] noted, "DENMARK. Skilling, 1545. Christian III. NGC MS-60. Slight bend near rim, obverse at eight o'clock; still excellent for type. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling; the specie daler would not appear until later. This type was struck 1542-58.
