This specimen was lot 10057 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €504 (about US$525). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Schleswig-Holstein. Søsling lybsk (Sechsling), 1545. Flensburg Mint. Christian III. NGC VF-35. Variation with retrograde 4 in date. The royal Flensburg Mint operated from 1544 till 1571 when it was turned into a bell foundry. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex. Peter F. Suhm Collection (Copenhagen, 1800/1802) Lot# 1321." At this time, one thaler = 24 groschen = 36 schilling = 72 kreuzer = 252 pfennig. A seschling was six pfennig or 1/42 of a thaler. The king of Denmark was also duke of Schleswig-Holstein and issued this coin 1534, 1545-46 and 1554 for his subjects there. All have two digit dates.
