This specimen was lot 10063 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €168 (about US$175). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Hvid, ND (c. 1541-1544). Christian III. NGC AU-50. The silver content of .266 indicates that the type was struck 1541-1544. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922)." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling or 144 hvide. Hvid means "white" in Danish. The specie daler would not appear until later.
