Turkey 1976 10 kurush

from the Mountain Groan Collection

This specimen was issued by Turkey as part of the F.A.O. series. Turkey issued an elaborate series of F.A.O. coins, including this gold issue from 1978. The obverse features a mother breastfeeding a child while the reverse is the same oat stalks design used on the regular type. This issue was accompanied by a similar five kurush in aluminum and 5 lira in stainless steel. The last ten kurush was issued in 1980.

Recorded mintage: 17,000.
