Turkey 1976 5 lira

from the Mountain Groan Collection

This specimen was issued by Turkey as part of the F.A.O. series. Turkey issued an elaborate series of F.A.O. coins, including this gold issue from 1978. The obverse features a mother breastfeeding a child while the reverse is the same wreath design used on the regular type. This issue was accompanied by a similar five kurush and ten kurush in aluminum. The last five lira was issued in 1989.

Recorded mintage: 17,000.
