Turkey 1975 10 kurush KM-898a

from the Mountain Groan Collection

This specimen was issued by Turkey as part of the F.A.O. series. Turkey issued an elaborate series of F.A.O. coins, including this gold issue from 1978. The obverse features Ataturk driving a tractor while the reverse is the same oat stalks design used on the regular type. This issue was accompanied by a similar fifty kurush in stainless steel. The last ten kurush was issued in 1980.

Recorded mintage: 517,000.

Specification: 1.4 g, aluminum, 21.1 mm diameter.
