This specimen was lot 31416 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Kampen. Provincial gold imitative 1/2 Rose Noble ND (1600-02) MS63 NGC, Kampen mint. Obv. Half-length figure of king standing facing within ship, holding sword and shield. Rev. Polylobe containing rayed rose between lis and crowns above lions. An exceptionally well struck and choice piece, this wondrous imitative issue draws upon the iconography of the neighboring gold coinage from England. Scarcely encountered so exquisitely preserved, this specimen is sure to attract consideration and spirited bidding from the community." The towns of Deventer, Kampen and Zwolle are in central Overijssel and banded together in the mid-sixteenth century to issue coinage.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
