This pice (one-fourth of an anna or 1/64 of a rupee) was struck at the Bombay mint at the end of World War Two, in the final days of the British Raj. This date was issued from Bombay, Calcutta and Lahore. About 1.29 billion were minted 1943-47.
Recorded mintage: 237,197,000.
