This specimen was lot 4250 in Goldberg sale 80 (Los Angeles, June 2014), where it sold for $399.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "India - British. ½ Anna, 1945 (b). Nickel-Brass. George VI. Restrike. NGC graded Proof 66." The half anna was not introduced as a circulating denomination until 1940 when it was issued as a copper-nickel coin. It was converted to nickel-brass and struck in large numbers 1942-45 and again in copper-nickel 1946-47. This proof version is rare.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
