This specimen was lot 73741 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/2 Pice, 1916-(C). Calcutta Mint. George V. NGC MS-63 Brown. A glossy and shimmering example, this wonderful piece delivers much eye appeal and charm." This half pice was struck at the Calcutta mint before World War One. The type was struck 1912-36 and is common in all grades but still makes a handsome coin in nice condition. A half pice was 1/128 of a rupee.
