This specimen was lot 41310 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler), 1775-LCR. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS AU-58. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1735-80 and is common. It had a face value of half a gulden, which was one-third thaler at the beginning of the eighteenth century but was slipping to only a quarter thaler at this time.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
