Sincona sale 67, lot 4226

This specimen was lot 4226 in Sincona sale 67 (Zurich, October 2020), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,712 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Muzaffar al-dîn Shâh, 1314-1324 H./1896-1907 AD, Silver coinage. 500 Dinars 1319 H. Bust on wreath, name and title above, rev. lion and sun above value in wreath. KM 977. Extremely fine, ex proof strike."

Altho the auctioneers labelled this as KM 977, it is actually KM 969, struck AH 1318, 1319, 1322 and undated.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.30 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 2.44 g.
