This specimen was lot 4234 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Muzaffar al-dîn Shâh, 1314-1324 H./1896-1907 AD, Silver coinage. 5000 Dinars 1322 H. On the occasion of the Shâh's birthday. Bust half right on wreath with sikke-yi mawlûd - humâyûnî, to the sides of the head, name and title above, rev. lion and sun above value in wreath. Shallow strike, about uncirculated."
This 5000 dinars or five krans was the largest silver coin struck for circulation.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
Specification: 23.03 g, 0.900 fine silver, 36 mm diameter, this specimen 21.75 g.
