Sincona sale 85, lot 1106

This specimen was lot 1106 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 5,250 CHF (about US$7,070 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Muzaffar al-Din Shah, 1313-1324 AH (1896-1907). 2 Tomans 1322 AH (1904/1905 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Moloud. Milled edge. Very rare. NGC MS62. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 133. Bought from Spink & Son, London 1989. Finest certified by NGC."

This denomination comes in two varieties: KM 996 (large date, no obverse inscription) and KM 997 (small date, obverse inscription, shown here).
