This specimen was lot 3786 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $1,610. The catalog description[1] noted, "Niger. 100 Francs, 1960. President Diori Hamani. Independence commemorative. NGC graded Proof 66 Ultra Cameo." Niger is a poverty-stricken former French colony on the edge of the Sahara desert in Africa. The SCWC lists no circulating coinage for the country, which uses the CFA franc.

Recorded mintage: 1,000.

Specification: 32 g, 0.900 fine gold, .926 troy oz AGW.
