This specimen was lot 7058 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $564. The catalog description[1] noted, "NIGER. 50 Francs, 1960. NGC PROOF-68 CAMEO. Independence commemorative from a mintage of only 1,000 pieces. A few tiny handling marks but overall in quite good condition with flashing brilliance and fine detail." This coin was issued in a set which included KM 1 (10 francs), KM 2 (25 francs), KM 4 (100 francs), KM 5 (500 francs) and KM 6 (1000 francs). Niger has no circulating coinage, using the CFA franc for daily transactions.

Specification: 16 g, 0.900 fine gold.
