This specimen was lot 3590 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it sold for $661.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gabon. 50 Francs, 1960. On Independence. President Leon M'Ba. Reverse: Arms. NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo." Like the coinage of many impoverished African countries, the commemoratives such as this one, which were sold outside the country, are easier to obtain than circulating coinage. It is accompanied by gold ten, twenty-five and hundred francs.

Specification: 16 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.463 troy oz AGW.
