This specimen was lot 32068 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Zeeland. Batavian Republic silver Ducat 1795 MS65 NGC, Middelburg mint. The highest graded specimen of this type, a lustrous Gem. Usually found softly struck, heavily circulated or both, this example exhibits icy white surfaces of mint brilliance with exceptionally bold details, no wear nor major contact marks marring its sleek surfaces. Exceedingly rare as nice as this specimen." This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century for the United Provinces until 1794 and then for the Batavian Republic 1795-98.
