This gold five pesos piece was minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1895-96. This issue weighed only 40% of the earlier five pesos minted 1851-73. A similar design was used on the gold ten pesos (KM 154).

Recorded mintage: 3,002,000.

Specification: 2.99 g, 0.900 fine gold, .088 troy oz AGW.
