Chile 1895-So 20 centavos
The first specimen was lot 1386 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $48.40. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE, Republic. 1818-present. AR 20 Centavos. Santiago mint. Dated 1895 So. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 62. Choice toned UNC." This one year type introduced the new perched condor designed by French engraver Oscar Roty. This device was used on most Chilean coins until the 1940's. This issue was lower weight but higher fineness than the prior type, resulting in more silver. It is scarce in nice condition.

Specification: 4 g, 0.835 fine silver, 21.5 mm diameter; this specimen is Ø21 mm, 3.97 g, 6h axis.
