This specimen was lot 12238 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $1,762. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. Ducat, 1835. NGC AU-58." This one year type is scarce. A similar type (Fr-270a) was struck in small numbers 1828-34.

Recorded mintage: 2,048.

Specification: 3.49 g, .937 fine gold, .105 troy oz AGW.
