This specimen was lot 1993 in Sincona sale 59 (Zurich, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA | Salzburg, Erzbistum, Johann Ernst von Thun und Hohenstein, 1687-1709. 2 Kreuzer 1698, Salzburg. Prachtexemplar. FDC. (Germany, archbishopric of Salzburg, John Ernest of Thun and Hohenstein, 1687-1709, double kreuzer of 1698, Salzburg mint. Cabinet piece, Uncirculated.)"
This type, equal to half a batzen, was struck 1694-1700 and is common. The zweikreuzer was more common in Switzerland than in Germany, where the dreikreuzer prevailed.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: billon, this specimen 1.19 g.
