Künker sale 263, lot 758

This specimen was lot 758 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$2,455 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Rudolf August, 1666-1685. Reichstaler 1671, Clausthal, auf die Eroberung der Stadt Braunschweig. R Scharf ausgeprägtes Exemplar mit prachtvoller Patina, vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Rudolf August, 1666-85, thaler of 1671, Clausthal mint, on the conquest of the city of Brunswick. Sharply struck with beautiful patina, extremely fine.)"
