This specimen was lot 659 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it sold for €480 (about US$608 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIE, ETATS PONTIFICAUX, Pie VI (1775-1799), (Giovanni Angelo Braschi), AV doppia romana, 1787, Rome. D/ FLORET IN DOMO DOMINI Plant de lis. R/ APOSTOLOR PRINCEPS Saint Pierre trônant de f. sur une nuée. Beau à Très Beau. (Italy, Pontifical State, Pius VI (1775-99), gold doppia romana of thirty paoli, 1787, Rome mint. Obverse: lily plant; reverse: St. Peter enthroned on a cloud. Fine to very fine.)"
This type was issued 1786-93 and is not rare in circulated condition. It varied from the earlier issue of 1776-85 by deleting the "30 P" from the reverse.
