This specimen was lot 22445 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $149.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Frederick VII 5 Cents 1859, AU-UNC, far nicer than usual for the type." This type was issued 1858-59 along with one, three, ten and twenty cent coins.
Danish currency endured several "reforms" in the nineteenth century. For the West Indies, the decimal conversion occurred in 1858, with twenty cents = one franc. The Danish West Indies were sold to the United States in 1917.
