This specimen was lot 543 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £280 (about US$434 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 2 escudos, Guanajuato mint, 1849 PF, F double-punched, very fine to good very fine." The Guanajuato mint struck this type 1845, 1849, 1853, 1856, 1859-62. None of the dates are common altho overall Guanajuato is a somewhat available mint.
Recorded mintage: unknown but very scarce.
Specification: 6.77 g, .875 fine gold, .190 troy oz AGW.
