Sincona sale 95, lot 4676

This specimen was lot 4676 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$693 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Vierteldukat 1734, Zürich. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, quarter ducat of 1734, Zürich mint. About Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1718-45, 1748-53, 1756-61 and 1767. It is likely the most common gold coin from this canton in the eighteenth century.
