Sincona sale 102, lot 5668

This specimen was lot 5668 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$377 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Zürich. Stadt und Kanton. Halbtaler 1734, Zürich. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1734, Zürich mint. About Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1723-36, 1739-45, 1748, 1751-61, 1767-68 along with a half thaler with a city view reverse (KM 146). In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
