Sincona sale 91, lot 3583

This specimen was lot 3583 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 8,000 CHF (about US$10,571 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zug, Halbtaler 1692, Zug. Sehr selten. Gutes sehr schön. Flaue Stellen. Exemplar der Auktion UBS 67, Zürich, September 2006, Los 4460. Exemplar der Auktion Leu Numismatik 82, Zürich, Oktober 2001, Los 397. (Switzerland, canton of Zug, half thaler of 1692, Zug mint. Very rare, Good very fine, Some weakly struck areas.)"

This denomination was struck in round format (shown here) and as a klippe (KM 43) in 1692.
