Künker sale 354, lot 6398

This specimen was lot 6398 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €9,500 (about US$13,221 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, WÜRTTEMBERG, Karl, 1864-1891. 2 Mark 1880. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung PF 67 CAMEO (5947733-012). Äußerst selten in dieser Erhaltung. Kabinettstück. Polierte Platte. (Germany, kingdom of Württemberg, Charles, 1864-91, two mark of 1880, graded NGC PF-67 CAMEO, very scarce in this quality, cabinet piece, proof.)"

This type is expensive in nice condition. It was issued 1876-77, 1880, 1883 and 1888.

Recorded mintage: 128,943.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge, 28 mm diameter.
