Sincona sale 46, lot 285

This specimen was lot 285 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$480 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Württemberg, Königreich, Karl, 1864-1891. 20 Mark 1874 F, Stuttgart. Vorzüglich-FDC. (kingdom of Württemberg, Charles, 1864-91, twenty mark of 1874, Stuttgart mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This type is common and is a product of the Stuttgart mint (mintmark "F"). It was struck 1874 and 1876.

Recorded mintage: 322,000.

Specification: 7.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW, this specimen 7.96 g.
