Wurttemberg 1865 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3637 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €20 (about US$28 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Karl, 1864-1891. Kreuzer 1865. Fast Stempelglanz. Erworben im Juni 1988 aus dem Lager der Münzenetage H. Schulz, Stuttgart. (kingdom of Württemberg, Charles, 1864-91, kreuzer of 1865. About uncirculated.)"
Karl was king during German unification. A homosexual, he left no children and was succeeded by his nephew. One gulden was sixty kreuzer. This type was struck 1865-73.
