Wurttemberg 1842 kreuzer KM-576
This specimen was lot 3623 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €480 (about US$660 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I., 1816-1864. Kreuzer 1842. Mit WÜRTTEMBERG auf der Vorderseite. Stempelglanz. Erworben im Oktober 1991 aus dem Lager der Kreissparkasse Esslingen. (kingdom of Württemberg, William I, 1816-64, kreuzer of 1842, with "WÜRTTEMBERG" on the obverse. Uncirculated.)"
King William began his reign as a liberal, granting Württemberg a constitution and reforming taxes, customs duties and agriculture, but grew reactionary after the revolutions of 1848. One gulden was sixty kreuzer. This type was struck 1839-42 and was superseded by KM 590 (obverse legend "KÖNIGR. WÜRTTB."), struck 1842-57.
