This specimen was lot 34082 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $7,500. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: West Friesland. Provincial Ducaton (Silver Rider) 1786 MS64 NGC. A stunning example of the type, wrapped in a lustrous, milk-toned patina. A bold strike rendered confident devices with instances of softness, a quality easily counteracted by the overall eye-appeal of this near-gem. From the Coenen Collection." The ducaton was the largest silver coin struck in the United Provinces and most of the provinces issued it at one time or another. This subtype was struck 1774-93 and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
