Westfriesland 1604 daalder Dav-4868
This specimen was lot 2039 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €150 (about US$208 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, WEST-FRIESLAND, AR leeuwendaalder op Hollandse voet, 1604. Vz/ Staande ridder rechtsom kijkend met voor zich provinciewapen. Kz/ Klimmende leeuw l. (Netherlands, province of Westfriesland, silver lion dollar of the Holland type of 1604. Obverse: standing knight supports the provincial arms; reverse: lion rampant left. Very Fine.)"
This is an early style leeuwendaalder, with the date on the obverse. It was struck 1604-05 only.
