This specimen was lot 4933 in Goldberg sale 74 (Los Angeles, June 2013), where it sold for $172.50 including buyer's fees. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands - West Friesland. Lion Daalder, 1605. Provincial arms between date. NGC graded VF-30." Lion daalders were struck in most of the provinces that today make up the Netherlands. This is an early style leeuwendaalder, with the date on the obverse. It was struck 1604-05 only. Westfriesland would strike leeuwendaalders until 1700 with various mintmarks.
