Stephen Album sale 43, lot 1151

This specimen was lot 1151 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "VIET NAM: Socialist Republic, AR 20 đồng, 1989, 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Ho Chi Minh, NGC graded Proof 64 Ultra Cameo." The SCWC notes that this NCLT was minted in Leningrad and given to the Vietnamese regime in sets with a ten đồng (KM 38) and a five đồng (KM 36). A gold 500 đồng (KM 41) was also struck in Havana but apparently not included in the sets. Vietnam was not issuing any coins for circulation at this time.

Recorded mintage: unknown but all in proof.

Specification: silver, 0.900 fine.
